DFL Senior Caucus chair Kay Hendrikson recently sent the following correspondence to Colin Stemper of the MN LTSS Steering Committee.
Dear Colin Stemper,
The MN DFL Senior Caucus is a volunteer statewide advocacy organization for older Minnesotans within the Minnesota state DFL party. We are deeply concerned about the reduction and/or elimination of grants for service for seniors in Minnesota. Attached is our formal statement of our concern.
These grants are only modest investments but they build the local networks of volunteers and informal caregivers that keep seniors in their homes and out of costlier care. By their elimination or reduction, it will cost the state more and leave very rural areas with no way to serve older adults at home.
Representatives from the MN DFL Senior Caucus are happy to present our recommendations in person. Thank you for considering our request.
